LAURENT PERRACHON, MORGON CÔTE DU PY 2021, BEAUJOLAIS, FRANCE $19.99 The Perrachon family has been involved in the wine trade since 1601. Today, the fifth (Martine and Laurent) and sixth (Maxime and Adrien)
generations run the domaine, which started producing estate wines in 1877. The best parcel in Morgon, at the footsteps of the Côte du Py hill. While we typically pick a Beaujolais for November club, as it is the perfect turkey wine, we just couldn’t pass up a chance to give an amazing wine from one of the best terroir on the planet! The grapes harvested here are very representative of the best this appellation can offer. The grapes are harvested on a 42 acres parcel with a very pebbly soil, schistous, iron oxide rich, typical of this appellation. It gives a bright purple-hued wine that we mature in oak barrels. Its typical aromas of kirsh with peppery notes are well blended with animal notes.
VAL DE LOS FRAILES, ROBLE 2016, CIGALES, SPAIN $14.99 (MIXED) Situated between the cities of Valladolid and Palencia, and with land divided between both provinces, Cigales is one of the historic Spanish wine-growing regions as attested by documents dating back to the 10th Century. While the region is more known for its rosados (rosés), Carlos Moro is a notable producer leading the charge to make great reds on par with their more illustrious neighbors in Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Opened in 1999, Valdelosfrailes takes a modern approach to an ancient tradition, using the latest technology to make fresh, vibrant wines with depth and complexity.
